Differents Between Various Corkscrews and Wine Openers

Most households have some type of corkscrew or other type of wine opener for use in removing the cork seal from wine bottles. While pretty much every device can eventually remove a cork, the real differences between different openers is how long and how much effort needs to be expended to extract the cork. As is the case with many cheap low quality openers is that they often require herculean strength and those extra exertions can often “shred” cork resulting in small broken fragments left floating in the wine itself. Alternately sometimes applying too much brute force can result in the cork being moved the wrong direction and into the wine itself.

This is why it is often worthwhile to invest a small sum of money into one of many decent quality electric corkscrews that can be purchased at an affordable price. And with one of these devices, removing a cork can be as easy a pushing a button.

Wine Gifts Online

When you are thinking of purchasing wine gifts online it makes sense to know something about the wineries which could be included, so you can make an accurate judgment about the quality of the wines being shipped.

One winery which by all accounts, should receive more attention is Burgess Cellars. Originally part of the Souverain Cellars empire, which was known for fine wine production as far back as the 1880′s, former fighter pilot Tom Burgess purchased 25 acres of vines to create his own winery. As you might expect, vineyards have expanded over the years and now over 100 acres are owned, with a variety of outstanding locations selected to grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Often described as “firmly structured” these are wines which certainly benefit from a bit of aging and the house style brings it a load of devoted followers, especially when considering the rounder feel of the majority of Napa Valley wine.
